Under Pressure

Pressure operations is ever-present in the oil and gas industry, from formation testing to well testing and pressure of equipment and wellbores. The fact is there are simply far too many pressure activities to cover.

The wise thing to do is assume that every step of a pressure activity is a potential pressure hazard. If gauges are available, use and monitor them.

Always use your Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and training providing to you by your employer. If pressure must be released, use a choke and release it slowly. Anytime pressure is involved, and if you’re not sure what to do or how to do it, then STOP WORK and perform a Job Safety Analysis.
